In 2006, Veuve Clicquot entrusted Andrée Putman with the design of the packaging for its exceptional cuvée, La Grande Dame. For this project, Putman reinterpreted the champagne house’s aesthetic through a play of subtle geometry. The box features a checkerboard pattern in matte and glossy black, accented with orange-yellow touches recalling the iconic Clicquot hue, creating a striking visual elegance.
Inside, the box transforms into a champagne bucket once opened, revealing a mirror-finish interior and a luxurious design crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The 1998 vintage takes center stage, presented within this packaging as a work of art in itself — a harmonious dialogue between winemaking tradition and bold contemporary design.
