Bisazza x Andrée Putman
2008
In 2008, Andrée Putman designed two mosaic patterns for Bisazza, where the discipline of the drawing meets an immediate graphic sensitivity. With Alternance, a deliberately elementary decorative module repeats and shifts, recalling the keys of a piano. Luminous accents punctuate the composition, giving it a subtle sense of rhythm and movement.
With Vibration, the grid becomes denser: a play of dark and light squares is arranged to create contrasts that generate an almost optical depth, while lighter nuances punctuate the pattern like breaths.
To mark the centenary in 2025, Bisazza unveiled—during a private exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs—a new version of this design, presented in a blue colourway, renewing its reading and heightening its visual energy.
