In 2007, Andrée Putman presented Baldaquin in collaboration with Galerie Kreo, a piece that explores the boundary between object and architecture. Inspired by the traditional four-poster bed, the project offers a contemporary interpretation marked by great restraint, where the structure is reduced to its essential lines.
Four slender posts trace an airy frame that defines the space of rest without ever enclosing it. Through this simple gesture, Andrée Putman transforms the bed into an almost architectural presence, both light and rigorous. Baldaquin thus reflects her constant pursuit of a design that is precise and timeless, where clarity of form allows a quiet poetry of space to emerge.
