In 2010, Nespresso invited the studio of Andrée Putman to design a collection of objects dedicated to the ritual of coffee tasting. Titled Ritual Collection, this line of accessories reflects the brand’s attention to the sensory experience surrounding each cup.
Designed together with Olivia Putman, the collection includes porcelain cups, spoons, containers, and trays conceived to accompany different moments of tasting—from ristretto to cappuccino. True to the Putman aesthetic, the design favors pure forms and understated elegance: the white cups are accented by a colored ring hidden between the cup and the saucer, subtly revealing the intensity of the coffee served.
Through this collaboration, the studio brought its minimalist design language into the domestic world of coffee. Each object contributes to transforming an everyday gesture into a refined ritual, where thoughtful design enhances the pleasure of tasting.
