In 2008, Andrée Putman collaborated with Pleyel to design an exceptional edition of a piano titled Voie lactée (“Milky Way”). Conceived as both a musical and sculptural object, the instrument reinterprets the classical piano through Putman’s signature refined aesthetic.

Its dark surface is punctuated by a constellation of luminous dots, evoking a starry sky and transforming the instrument into a cosmic landscape. Balancing formal rigor with visual poetry, Andrée Putman turns the piano into an object of contemplation as much as a musical instrument. With Voie lactée, she extends her pursuit of essential design, where the simplicity of lines reveals the evocative power of light and material.
