Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Wolfsburg
2000
Opened in 2000 within Volkswagen’s Autostadt in Wolfsburg, the Ritz-Carlton represents one of Andrée Putman’s major achievements in luxury hospitality. She designed the initial interiors: 147 rooms and 23 suites crafted to offer contemporary elegance, a refined atmosphere, and unobtrusive comfort. The public spaces — receptions, lounges, and club areas — as well as the guest rooms, exude visual clarity, enhanced by large windows overlooking the Autostadt or the former Volkswagen factory. The meticulous attention to detail reflects a desire to create a distinguished hotel experience, at the intersection of discreet luxury and high-end functionality.
