With the Double Je mirror, Andrée Putman once again explores her fascination with contrasts—transparency and depth, order and illusion—transforming the mirror into both a sensory experience and an architectural element. Through the interplay of surfaces and angles, reflections multiply, fragment, and recombine according to the viewer’s perspective. The mirror captures light while reshaping space, creating an ever-changing, almost theatrical perception. The geometric rigor of its composition contrasts with the instability of its reflections, producing a subtle balance between precision and visual ambiguity.
