Penthouse, Miami Beach
2008
Perched atop Miami Beach, this penthouse designed by Andrée Putman exemplifies an architectural vision marked by clarity and refinement. Inspired by the vertical lines of Monaco’s Gildo Pastor Center, it establishes a harmonious dialogue between architectural rigor and openness to the horizon. In the manner of the film Pillow Book, every frame highlights proportions and light. The interior layout draws inspiration from the Orchid Club House, where screens and spatial sequences created a fluid atmosphere. Here, large doors shape the rhythm of life: when open, they release continuous perspectives; when closed, they compose a series of intimate, hushed scenes. Through this project, Andrée Putman asserts her singular artistry — transforming a living space into a narrative of balance and precision. This penthouse thus becomes a manifesto of her style, where timeless elegance is enriched with a sensitive, contemporary dimension.
